Steve Morris for Woodbury City Council

About the Candidate

Steve is a lifelong Minnesotan, growing up just down the road in North St. Paul.  He lives with his fiance' (due to be married in January!) and their dog Stella Grace

Steve has lived or worked in Woodbury for 20+ years, and has found it to be a great place to live and enjoy their neighbors.  

Steve has worked for SuperAmerica for over 22 years in many roles including Director of Marketing, Director of Planning & Strategy and now overseeing Operations and Strategy for all of their Northern Division locations.

Steve serves on the Woodbury Planning Commission, is the Co-Chair of Community & Business Advisory Council (CBAC) for Metro Transit's Gold Line (BRT Line from Woodbury -> Union Depot) as well as on the Board of his neighborhoods HOA. 

He enjoys serving as an Advisory Board member for the Non-Profit: United Heroes League and serving their mission towards helping military families stay healthy and active.  (www.unitedheroesleague.org) as well as volunteering with many other groups such as Feed My Starving Children, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Children's Miracle Network & Gillette Specialty Healthcare, and Special Olympics of Minnesota.

Steve also spends his springs/summers and fall serving as a USA/ASA umpire, for over 10 years,

I find that being an umpire teaches me about seeing things from different viewpoints & respecting others opinions, 

 

 

Steve has received training through the National Umpire School, is a member of the Minneapolis Umpires Association and does games both in Minneapolis as well as for the Twin Cities Goodtime Softball league under NAGAAA and has umpired several World Series tournaments as well as the annual Special Olympics Fall Games held at HealthEast Sports Center.
